Debt & Payment Recovery Lawyer in Karachi

Debt & Payment Recovery Lawyer in Karachi

Recovering unpaid money — from the legal notice to the execution of the decree.

Recovering what you are owed

Unpaid debts damage businesses and individuals alike. We start with a legal notice and, where the debtor does not pay, take the matter to court and through to execution — the stage that actually puts money back in your hands.

Legal notice

A formal legal notice sets out the amount, the basis of the claim and a period to pay. Some debtors settle on receiving it; for the rest it is the first document in the court file.

Civil recovery suit

A suit for recovery of money in the civil court leads to a money decree against the debtor. The decree is then enforced by attaching the debtor's assets, property or bank accounts.

Dishonoured cheques

A dishonoured cheque given to repay a loan or meet an obligation is both a civil debt and an offence under Section 489-F PPC, and the two routes can run side by side. See cheque dishonour cases.

Execution of decrees

A decree has to be executed: attachment and auction of property, attachment of bank accounts and, where the law allows, other coercive steps against the judgment debtor.

When the debt came from fraud

If the money was taken through fraud, a recovery suit can run alongside a criminal complaint and an urgent application to freeze the account the money went into. See our financial fraud recovery guide.
