Workplace Harassment Lawyer in Karachi

Workplace harassment complaints in Sindh can go to the organisation's Inquiry Committee or directly to the Provincial Ombudsperson Sindh under the Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act, 2010, with a representation to the Governor of Sindh under section 9.

Two routes

• Inquiry Committee — the organisation's own committee (Sections 3 and 4); its decision can be appealed under Section 6.
• Provincial Ombudsperson Sindh — directly, under Section 8, for example where the committee may be biased.

Against the Ombudsperson's decision, a representation lies to the Governor of Sindh under Section 9, and then to the Sindh High Court.

How a complaint runs

1. Timeline and evidence — events in order, messages, emails, recordings, witnesses.
2. Choice of route — committee or Ombudsperson.
3. Written complaint — under Section 4 or Section 8.
4. Inquiry — statements and cross-examination.
5. Decision — minor or major penalties, or compensation; then appeal or representation.

After leaving the job

The Sindh High Court has held that the Act does not require the complaint to be made while still employed.
