After the Sindh Civil Courts (Amendment) Act, 2025, appeals from Civil Judges in Sindh lie to the District Judge, while first appeals from District Court decrees, civil revisions and criminal appeals from Sessions Courts are heard by the Sindh High Court.

Civil appeals and revisions

• First appeal — Section 96 CPC, from an original decree of the District Judge or Additional District Judge.

Since the 2025 amendment, a District Judge's original civil jurisdiction is unlimited in Karachi as well, and a Civil Judge's decree is appealed to the District Judge.

1. Certified copies — applied for at once; the time limit counts from them.
2. Grounds — memo of appeal or revision, with a stay application where needed.
3. Admission — filing and the admission hearing.
4. Hearing — notice, record called, final arguments and judgment.
