When have courts ordered FIA to pay?
In the Muhammad Farhan case, a student travelling to Japan on a valid visit visa was offloaded at Jinnah International Airport. Before the Sindh High Court, FIA conceded he had been offloaded by mistake, and the court directed FIA to pay the full cost of his air ticket.
Courts do not always award money. In the Lahore High Court's May 2026 Muhammad Abbas ruling, the offloading was declared unlawful but no compensation was reported. A claim is stronger where FIA admits error or gave no real reasons.
What should I keep for a claim?
- •E-ticket, payment receipt and the fare rules
- •Boarding pass and the written offloading reasons, if given
- •Hotel, visa, tour or tuition costs you lost
- •Any messages from the airline about refunds or no-show charges
